It turns on when there's signal, off when there's no signal.<br /><br />If you're willing to modify the hardware by adding an extra chip, you can make it so the throttle signal if cut off when the red LED is turned off. You can do this easily with a single gate. It just requires opening the receiver box and soldering extra stuff on it.
